Heartache for Eastick
ENGLAND Under-19 boss Brian Eastick admitted it felt more like a defeat than a draw after his side conceded an injury-time equaliser to Switzerland at Donetsk .
Eastick’s outfit tossed away a first-half lead to draw 1-1 in the opening match of their European Championship campaign with Joe Mattock scoring with a first-half free-kick. But with virtually the last kick, Sebastien Wuthrich drove a shot beyond Jason Steele to deny England .
Eastick said: “There are a lot of disappointed boys in the changing room because it feels like a defeat . We didn’t play well but we were dogged and determined. To concede so late is hard to take.”
England now face a tricky task against hosts Ukraine on Friday. They must avoid defeat to retain a realistic chance of making it out of the group stage.
