Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Man Utd deal talked up as Arsenal asking price pinpointed
MANCHESTER UNITED would have to offer at least £100million to get Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Man Utd set to launch £70m bid for Aubameyang claims pundit
That is the opinion of former Chelsea and Tottenham defender Jason Cundy.
Cundy was working alongside talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein on Monday night.
Goldstein revealed he has heard Manchester United are keen on signing Aubameyang this summer and a £70m offer is in the pipeline.
Cundy says that would not be enough money for Arsenal to let go their top scorer from last season.
Aubameyang, there’s got to be three figures there, it’s got to be £100m
But he reckons a deal would make a lot of sense for Manchester United.
Arsenal have a history of selling their top players to the two Manchester clubs, most notably when striker Robin van Persie made the move to United in 2012.
“He’s the finished article,” Cundy said of Aubameyang.
“I can see the attraction. It kind of makes a lot of sense really.
“To prise him away, two years left, from Arsenal.
“Arsenal just love supplying Manchester with their players that are just at that time where they are just about to do something special.
“I would say, Aubameyang, there’s got to be three figures there, it’s got to be £100m.
“£70m? That’s not going to get him, no, that’s not going to get him.
“They might offer that but that’s not going to get him.
“Arsenal don’t need to sell him do they. Does he want to go?
“That means [Romelu] Lukaku will be moving on. He’s quite similar though isn’t he to [Marcus] Rashford?
“They’re looking for pace then, pure pace, they’ve got Daniel James [as well].”
