Lionel Messi wants Valverde to STAY at Barcelona says Nicol
Messi and Neymar spent four years at Barcelona between 2013 and 2017 before the latter jumped ship to PSG in a world-record £200million transfer.
The duo have remained close in the time ever since, despite Neymar leaving the Catalan giants to escape the shadow of the Argentina international.
Talk is rife that Neymar and Messi may reunite again at Barcelona, with the Brazilian coming to regret his decision to leave the club.
However, Spanish newspaper Marca say this will not be happening because Nou Camp chiefs do not deem the Samba trickster a ‘missing piece in their jigsaw’.
Barcelona have a plethora of attacking talent at their disposal.
Messi is often joined by Luis Suarez in attack and, despite talk the Uruguay international may leave for David Beckham’s Inter Miami, he will not be jumping ship just yet.
Barcelona forked out £134 to make Ousmane Dembele their replacement for Neymar two years ago.
And manager Ernesto Valverde is eager to stick with the France international, despite his questionable attitude.
Barcelona are also expected to stick with Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazil international has failed to adjust to his surroundings ever since touching down from Liverpool in January 2018.
