Ronaldo failed to kick on from his impressive hat-trick in the 3-1 semi-final over Switzerland, being overshadowed by the magnificent Manchester City star.
Silva was elusive all game and provided a neat assist for Goncaio Guedes, who powerfully slammed home the winner in the 60th minute.
Following the final whistle, the stadium announcer revealed Silva was Player of the Tournament, which garnered him adulation from his nearby peers.
Ronaldo, standing next to the diminutive playmaker, did not seem so impressed, though.
He stared at the two-time Premier League winner coldly and did not offer congratulations amid the warm reception Bernardo received.
Portugal captain Ronaldo, 34, did get to lift the inaugural Nations League trophy, but explained that the national team will continue to be successful when he calls it a day.
“The national team will continue, with or without Cristiano,” he told UEFA.
“I think the team has great potential.

“I want to be part of this project because I feel good and I feel able to help the national team.
“But, as I said, I think the national team has the potential to continue to evolve and win more trophies.”

As for winning the competition in his homeland following the heartbreak of losing Euro 2004 on home soil, Ronaldo added: “The Portuguese people deserve it.
“They've supported us right from the start of the two matches, against Switzerland and today, and this trophy is for all of them.
“It doesn't belong to the national team but all of Portugal.”
