Jurgen Klopp makes decision on future of TWO Liverpool aces before Champions League final
JURGEN KLOPP is set to reward Joel Matip and James Milner with new contracts for their parts in Liverpool’s run to the Champions League final.
The duo, 27 and 33 respectively, currently have one year left on their existing deals at Anfield.
However, it’s understood the pair will renegotiate their contracts with Reds this summer.
Milner has been a virtual ever-present for Liverpool since leaving Manchester City in the summer of 2015, racking up 172 appearances and scoring 22 goals.
Matip, who joined the Merseysiders in the summer of 2016 from Schalke, has made 96 appearances and scored three goals for the club.
The Cameroon international has formed a strong partnership with Virgil van Dijk at the heart of Liverpool’s defence and has played a pivotal role in their run to the Champions League final.
Standing in the way of Liverpool winning their sixth European Cup are their Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Jurgen Klopp’s troops go into the match having beaten Spurs twice in the league this season.
Matip is relishing his first Champions League final appearance, saying: "I think we should try to enjoy the chance to win a title.

"It is the same for the opponent so we all have fresh legs. We train well and we are in good shape.
"It doesn’t matter. We will defend them all as a team."
He added: "I always believe in myself but now I have the opportunity to play and I try to use it," he continued.
"We have a lot of quality in the team.
"It doesn’t matter who is coming in from the bench. It is really nice to be part of it.
"It is really good that we have in the last weeks so many wins. It is hard to compare to other parts of my career but I really enjoy the time. I am quite fine.
"I know it is one of the biggest games but at the moment I am fine. These are the kind of games you always want to play as a kid."
