Gonzalo Higuain, David Luiz row drops clue over Chelsea XI vs Arsenal - Eidur Gudjohnsen
GONZALO HIGUAIN may know he is not starting for Chelsea against Arsenal on Wednesday - which caused his frustration at team-mate David Luiz.
Chelsea: Luiz and Higuain appear to clash in training
That is the opinion of former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.
Higuain and David Luiz appeared to clash in an open training session just over 24 hours before the Europa League final against Arsenal in Baku.
Whatever happened between the duo clearly riled manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Italian was filmed storming off the pitch, throwing his cap to the ground and angrily kicking it towards the touchline.
Maybe Higuain knows he’s not playing
Gudjohnsen reckons Higuain’s actions may mean he is not starting Wednesday’s match versus Arsenal.
“Maybe Higuain knows he’s not playing,” he said on BT Sport.
“He’s getting frustrated, so there are emotions already involved.”
Gudjohnsen admits it is a concern to see the players clash the day before a big final.
“It does raise concerns, something must have gone on,” he continued.
“Obviously you’ve got a group of players with big personalities.
“The last thing you need or want is for one of your players injured.
“But something has got the manager very angry in that situation as you can see.
“Looking at the training session, the last 15-20 minutes, rubbish, I’ll be honest. Waste of time.
“Players just standing around, so obviously something went wrong and ruined the training session.
“That’s what it looked like from up here anyway.”
