Is this the clue Eden Hazard will leave Chelsea for Real Madrid in summer transfer window?
EDEN HAZARD seemed to say an emotional farewell to Chelsea fans after the Blues' final Premier League match of the season.
Chelsea ended their Premier League campaign with a dour 0-0 draw away at Leicester City, securing a third-place finish despite inconsistent results this term.
The Blues are guaranteed to be playing Champions League football next season, regardless of the result in the Europa League final against Arsenal at the end of the month.
However, that may not be enough to convince Eden Hazard to stay at Stamford Bridge with the Belgian forward strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid.
And the 28-year-old appeared to drop a further clue that he could be off to Spain this summer with an emotional farewell to travelling Chelsea fans at the King Power Stadium.
Hazard started the match on the bench, having played 120 minutes in the Europa League semi-final second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek.
He was called upon midway through the second half but was unable to break down a stubborn Foxes side who have been revitalised under new manager Brendan Rodgers.
And after the final whistle Hazard made sure to head over to the travelling support and show his gratitude for their backing this season.
The Chelsea ace lingered in front of the Blues fans, waving and clapping after what could well have been his penultimate game for the club.
Reports suggest a deal with Real Madrid has already been agreed and Los Blancos are set to announce the signing following the Europa League final.
Hazard racked up 16 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League this season and would set the La Liga giants back at least £86million (€100million).
The Stamford Bridge talisman has refused to rule out a move to the Bernabeu, and instead called for supporters to back beleaguered boss Maurizio Sarri.
When asked how the Blues can improve next season, he said: "I think if they can keep the same philosophy as this season, keep playing football like we tried to do it this season, but in a better way - that’s it.
“If we want to compete with them next season, we need to do it better. It’s that simple. We need to win games in football. If you don’t, you’re in trouble.”
Meanwhile, Sarri himself is unclear about his future but hopes he will be in the dugout for the 2019/20 campaign.
“I think so, but I am not sure,” Sarri said when asked if he will be at Chelsea next season.
“I can say only that the club asked me for the Champions League, and we reached the target.
“As you know very well, I love English football. I love the Premier League; it’s fantastic and the level is the best in the world, I think.
“The atmosphere in the stadiums is wonderful. I would like very much to stay here.”
