The reason Arsenal and Chelsea have 6,000 tickets each in 69,000-seater stadium explained
ARSENAL and Chelsea fans have been allocated less than 6,000 tickets each for the Europa League final despite the match being held in a 69,000-seater stadium.
Both teams have received such a paltry amount with UEFA having put 37,500 tickets on general sale in February.
In an attempt to get more locals to the game, that totals 58 per cent of the stadium’s capacity.
But it was clear UEFA were struggling to shift their tickets with the application deadline regularly shifted back.
The rest of the tickets are expected to go to commercial partners and to serve the corporate hospitality programme.

Last year, Atletico Madrid and Marseille were given just 9,000 tickets each for the Europa League final.
That was held at a stadium smaller than the arena in Baku with 57,000 people able to get into Lyon’s Groupama Stadium.
From the tickets, 23,000 were put on sale to the general public, with around 16,000 handed to commercial partners.
Arsenal have slammed the decision to hand each club less than ten per cent of the capacity.

In a statement, the club said: “As many of you will be aware, we are proud to have approximately 45,000 season ticket holders and over 180,000 official members.
“It is inevitable that with an allocation of just 6,000 tickets for the final, there will be thousands of fans who have supported the club for years and been part of our Europa League journey this season, who will be unable to attend this match.
“We recognise that any process we implement for the sales process of just 6,000 tickets for a major final will leave many fans disappointed.
“We can only ask that supporters understand the difficult situation we find ourselves in.”
