The THREE loanees who Maurizio Sarri should have in Chelsea squad next season - Hislop
CHELSEA boss Maurizio Sarri must bring three of his loanees back into his squad next season if he cannot make any new additions this summer.
Chelsea: Pundit reveals THREE loan players the club need to keep
That is the view of ESPN FC pundit and former West Ham and Newcastle goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.
Chelsea have lost their appeal against a two-window transfer ban applied on them by Fifa.
The Blues are now set to take the appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
In the past, taking the case to the CAS has helped teams who have had transfer bans, delaying it to allow the club to bring in players until a decision is made.
I would keep the likes of Victor Moses, as you remember he won a Premier League title with Chelsea himself
But Hislop says if that did not happen, Sarri must look at using some of the players he has out on loan.
Chelsea have had 41 players out on temporary deals this season.
Hislop doubts whether any of them would get into the starting XI at Stamford Bridge just yet.
However, he selected winger Victor Moses, centre-back Kurt Zouma and midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as three who could bolster Sarri’s squad.
“Get into the XI? No,” Hislop said.
“I would keep the likes of Victor Moses, as you remember he won a Premier League title with Chelsea himself.
"Maybe Kurt Zouma as cover.
“Bakayoko has been good for AC Milan this season.
Chelsea: Transfer ban is a ‘HUGE BLOW’ to team says Hislop
"Maybe he comes back and is improved.
“Outside of that there’s not an awful lot to phone home about.
“I keep those players if I can’t sign anybody this transfer window.
“I believe that Chelsea will follow everybody else’s lead in how they approach this transfer window and getting the opportunity to stockpile the dressing room before that ban comes down.”
