Man Utd transfer news: Paul Pogba’s brother hints he will LEAVE in candid interview
PAUL POGBA could leave Manchester United in the summer after his brother Florentin claimed ‘things are going to happen.’
Man Utd: Pogba could be swapped for Bale claims pundit
Pogba is reported to have told friends he wants to leave Old Trafford just three years after returning to the club in an £89million move from Juventus.
Real Madrid are understood to be keen on taking him to the Bernabeu in the summer and manager Zinedine Zidane admits he is a keen admirer of his fellow Frenchman.
Now, Pogba’s brother has moved to intensify the speculation surrounding his future in a candid interview with Spanish newspaper AS.
When asked about the United midfielder’s future, Florentin said: “I do not know. In football, many things can happen.
“Today I can tell you something, tomorrow something else.
"Things are going to happen. Now comes summer. We’ll see if he stays or if he leaves.”
Pogba appeared to have turned a corner at United after manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho when he was sacked last December.
He had a number of public fall-outs under Mourinho and enjoyed a dramatic upturn in form after Solskjaer was installed as interim boss.
However, since the Norwegian was given the job permanently, Pogba’s performances have dipped once more and he has only two goals in his last 13 appearances in all competitions.
Despite that, Solskjaer has given his player his public backing and says he expects him to remain at Old Trafford next season.
"I think he will be here next season," he said at the end of April.
"Paul has done fantastic for us. We want him to do well. He is a leader in the dressing room.
"If I could guarantee I would say yes. You can't guarantee but I think he will be."
Whatever happens with Pogba, Solskjaer is looking to overhaul his struggling squad in the summer and fans can expect a number of new faces to come in.
The club are also looking to bring in a sporting director to help with recruitment, although Solskjaer insists nobody will be signed without his say.
Speaking ahead of their game with Huddersfield this weekend, he said: “I’ll have a final say if a player comes in or go out and we’ve got regular meetings.”
