Jamie Carragher predicts THREE new Liverpool signings including one key first-team star
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp will make up to three new signings in the summer - despite what he said at his press conference this week.
Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp discusses future signings
That is according to Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.
Jurgen Klopp has admitted he is not expecting a busy window come the end of the season.
“Will it be the biggest transfer window of LFC? No, probably not,” the German said.
“But I think it would have been a surprise if I said yes.
You’d still expect two or three to come in
“Our eyes are always open, we always look, but what happens if and when, there is nothing to say about in the moment.”
But Carragher is still expecting some incomings, especially in midfield.
He believes a creative and goalscoring midfielder will be high on Klopp’s agenda to add to his starting XI.
Carragher says that is the main difference between Liverpool and title rivals Manchester City.
“They have great stability in there,” Carragher said of Liverpool’s midfield.
“They have four or five players who can play those positions [in midfield].
“It still maybe lacks something that have Man City have.
“They have probably two or three options - the two Silvas [David and Bernardo], Kevin De Bruyne.
“Liverpool don’t really have that type of player.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp gives Roberto Firmino update
“It will be interesting if that’s the one player Jurgen Klopp tries to add maybe to his first XI in the summer.
“He’s actually said in his press conference on Thursday that there wouldn’t be too many signings coming in.
“But you’d still expect two or three to come in.
“And I do feel someone with that extra something in midfield may be part of that.”
