West Ham team news: Predicted 4-2-3-1 line up to face Tottenham – Forgotten man to return?
WEST HAM are set to welcome a long-term absentee back to their matchday squad when the Hammers face Tottenham on Saturday (12.30pm).
Manuel Pellegrini will hope his West Ham side can return to winning ways when they face Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
The Hammers are on a four-match winless streak, having been held to a 2-2 draw last time out by Leicester.
However, West Ham are set to welcome Carlos Sanchez back after the Colombian has spent six months on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
Sanchez played just six times following his summer arrival from Fiorentina before suffering ligament damage, but underwent surgery and is now in contention to make the matchday squad this weekend.
Jack Wilshere will also hope to feature after making his return from injury last week, but the Hammers are still without a host of first-team stars.
Andriy Yarmolenko, Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Winston Reid are all ruled out against Spurs due to various fitness issues.
Samir Nasri faces a late assessment while both Javier Hernandez and Aaron Cresswell are also doubtful.
Cresswell’s absence means Arthur Masuaku should continue at left-back while Pablo Zabaleta and Ryan Fredericks will compete for a spot on the other flank.
Angelo Ogbonna or Issa Diop are most likely to partner Fabian Balbuena in central defence while Declan Rice and Mark Noble will anchor the midfield.
Michail Antonio has impressed in recent weeks and should start on the right with Felipe Anderson on the opposite wing.
With so many injuries, Robert Snodgrass is the only realistic option for Pellegrini in the No 10 role while Marko Arnautovic will be preferred to Perez in attack.
West Ham are currently 11th in the Premier League, five points behind 10th-placed Leicester but 12 points clear of the relegation zone.
