Chelsea team news: Predicted 4-3-3 line up to face Burnley – Hazard update, duo sidelined
CHELSEA are expected to have Eden Hazard available when they face Burnley at Stamford Bridge tonight (8pm).
Chelsea vs Burnley: The Clarets train ahead of match
Maurizio Sarri has given a positive injury update on Hazard ahead of the Blues’ latest Premier League clash against Burnley.
The Belgian forward picked up a knock during Chelsea’s Europa League victory over Slavia Prague in midweek and was substituted after 65 minutes.
However, Blues manager Sarri appears reasonably confident that his star man will feature against the Clarets.
Speaking about Hazard’s injury after the 5-3 aggregate win, the Italian said: "Nothing serious, I hope.
"It's only a strong knock. But I think we can recover him for the next match."
Pedro is expected to start on the opposite flank to Hazard after his Man of the Match performance on Thursday, with the Spaniard scoring twice and providing an assist.
Gonzalo Higuain is likely to replace Olivier Giroud in attack, despite the Frenchman continuing his excellent Europa League goalscoring run against the Czech side.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek started against Liverpool last weekend and is expected to retain his position alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante in midfield.
Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley will have to be content with spots on the bench while Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi are also likely to miss out.
The Blues are struggling in defence with Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso sidelined by injury.
Andreas Christensen will start at centre-back in partnership with David Luiz and Emerson Palmieri is favourite to line up at left-back.
Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League but sit a point behind third-placed Tottenham and can move ahead of their London rivals with a positive result.
