Ole Gunnar Solskjaer HITS BACK at Man Utd critics - 'We need a reality check for everyone'
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER hit back at Manchester United critics ahead of his side's Premier League clash with Everton.
Manchester United have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions, which have seen them exit the Champions League and dent their top four pursuit.
The Red Devils travelled to Everton on Sunday to kickstart a vital week in which they also face Manchester City and Chelsea at home, after which their fate should be clear.
Solskjaer's players have come under fire recently for their disappointing form but Solskjaer sent a reminder to critics before the side's big week.
Before the Sunday lunchtime kick-off, Solskjaer said to Sky Sports: "Since Christmas we’ve been the best team, bar City. City have just got more points than us.
"But it’s going to be decided now if the players can maintain… Because the players have been fantastic. You know we were in mid-table when we came.
"They’ve picked up so many points, Everton were two points behind us in December, now we’re 18 points ahead of them.
"I think we need a reality check for everyone else as well of where we are at the moment."

At the Everton pre-match press conference, Solskjaer was quizzed about the attitude of his players - a problem which was seemingly cured following Jose Mourinho's exit.
But the often buoyant 46-year-old acknowledged a slight dip in mentality in a rallying cry to his squad.
“Most of them have really impressed in their attitude and some need to get a reality check of where they're at," Solskjaer said.
"But most of these know they can improve if they keep working as they do."
