Graeme Souness mocks Manchester United with seven-word jibe at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
GRAEME SOUNESS has made it clear Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got a big job on his hands at Manchester United this summer.
Man United should SELL Paul Pogba says Graeme Souness
Former Liverpool midfielder and manager Souness was working as a TV pundit during Manchester United’s Champions League exit to Barcelona on Tuesday.
United lost 3-0 at the Nou Camp to exit the competition at the quarter-final stage 4-0 on aggregate.
Virgin Media Sport presenter Tommy Martin asked Souness what manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to do to get United back to the level of the likes of Barcelona.
“What decisions have to be made at Old Trafford to get them back to the proper level?” Martin said.
What time are we off air tonight?
And Souness brilliantly responded: “What time are we off air tonight?”
Souness went on to claim decisions must be made on the future of the likes of Paul Pogba.
Souness, who has been heavily critical of Pogba in the past, would sell the 26-year-old at the end of the season.
“He’s got major decisions,” the Scot said of Solskjaer.
“Pogba obviously is a major one, [Romelu] Lukaku’s a major one.
“I would sell [Pogba] if you got your money back. That’s a real shock to you, that’s a real shock to you.
“If you get anywhere near your money back I’d sell him. If the boy wants to go, let him go.
“When you’re in that situation it’s very difficult. Those boys are on monster wages.
Man United: Solskjaer admits there’s ‘work to be done’
“It’s alright saying ‘we’ll sell them’ but they won’t leave and go for less money anywhere else.
“So you’d be having to pay them to go, taking an enormous hit on the transfer fee you paid for me.
“This is not an easy situation they find themselves in.
“It’s obvious after this [defeat] that Ole has a monster job on his hands. It will not be solved in one transfer window.”
