Why Real Madrid transfer target Eden Hazard WILL leave Chelsea - Jeff Stelling EXCLUSIVE
CHELSEA star Eden Hazard will leave the club this summer with Real Madrid believed to be interested in the Belgian star.
Chelsea: Real Madrid will sign Eden Hazard claims Burley
That’s the view of Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling, who admits Hazard is his favourite player in the Premier League.
Hazard was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge last summer and admitted that he would love to play for Real Madrid.
He has shone for a disappointing Chelsea side this season, with Maurizio Sarri’s men battling for a top four place.
And Stelling believes Hazard will wave goodbye to west London this summer in an attempt to find a club battling for league titles.
“I can’t see Hazard staying,” Stelling, who will complete four walking marathons in four days in four nations from 5-8 September 2019 for Prostate Cancer UK, exclusively told Express Sport.
“He’s given Chelsea fantastic service. He is my favourite player in the Premier League, I just love to watch him.
“If he looks at what’s happening at Chelsea, does he think he’s part of a team that can go on and win the title next season? Or go and challenge in Europe next season? I don’t think so.
“But could he be? Of course he could because he’s one of the best players in the world.
“He can go to a side that is challenging for everything, which I don’t think his current club can be unless there’s a massive change in attitude.”
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was coy giving very little away on whether the club will make a move for Hazard.
The Frenchman said: “I will not give my personal opinion about what may happen because the season has not ended, but I've always appreciated him.
“I’ve seen him a lot since I was playing in France. He's fantastic.”
Hazard has scored 14 Premier League goals for Chelsea this season.
He will get a chance to add to that tally when the Blues welcome West Ham on Monday night (8pm).
Jeff Stelling will be embarking on his third March for Men for Prostate Cancer UK on 5-8 September, this time walking four marathons in four countries in four days. Football fans in Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow and London will have the option to join him in an epic series of marathon marches as he aims to take his fundraising total since 2016 to £1m.
