Tottenham will STILL finish above Arsenal for one reason - Andy Townsend
TOTTENHAM will finish above Arsenal for the third successive season - and knock the Gunners out of the Premier League top four in the process.
Premier League: Tottenham will finish above Arsenal says pundit
That is according to former Aston Villa and Chelsea midfielder Andy Townsend.
Arsenal moved up to third in the Premier League table on Monday with victory over Newcastle.
They are two points clear of north London rivals Tottenham after four defeats in five for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Manchester United sit level on points with Spurs in fifth and Chelsea are a point back in sixth.
I’ll go just Spurs, Arsenal to miss out
Townsend reckons United will make the top four, despite a recent dip in form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And he can see Tottenham joining them, with Arsenal and old club Chelsea missing out.
Townsend says Arsenal’s away form, which is the 10th best in the league, will end up costing them.
“I think United will be in there, I do,” he told beIN SPORTS.
Arsenal need to convince we can be consistent away says Emery
“Despite the fact their fixtures are tough I still think they’ll get in there.
“I think it’s going to be a battle between Arsenal and Spurs.
“It’s such a tough one to call.
“Arsenal have the better fixtures, Tottenham have on paper harder ones.
“Will the new stadium tomorrow night give them a massive lift? I think it will.
“I’m just going to go for Tottenham.
“Arsenal have those five away games, they haven’t always found it easy away from home.
“I’ll go just Spurs, Arsenal to miss out.”
