Why Man City, Liverpool would NOT buy Real Madrid target Paul Pogba from Man Utd - Collins
MANCHESTER UNITED midfielder Paul Pogba would find it easier playing for Real Madrid than the Red Devils, Manchester City or Liverpool.
That is according to former Celtic and Scotland midfielder John Collins.
Pogba has been linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the last couple of weeks.
The rumours sparked after the Frenchman claimed it was a “dream” for any player to play for Real and under their manager Zinedine Zidane.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played down the reports and says Pogba is happy at Old Trafford.
I don’t think he would play for Pep Guardiola, with that lack of sprinting back, chasing, or Jurgen Klopp
But the 26-year-old’s future was still a topic of discussion on beIN SPORTS on Tuesday.
Collins does not think Pogba would suit the style of play at United’s rivals Manchester City or Liverpool.
But he reckons it would be much easier for him in La Liga than at his current club.
“I don’t think he would play for Pep Guardiola, with that lack of sprinting back, chasing, or Jurgen Klopp,” Collins said.
“That’s me personally.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Zidane wants Paul Pogba.
“Obviously there’s a French connection, he’s a technical player which Zidane loves.
“And obviously they’ve got the money to buy any player they want Real Madrid, don’t they.
“I think it would be easier for him playing at Real Madrid, because they dominate every game, apart from Barcelona.
“But Manchester United in the last few years haven’t been dominating against the top five, six.
“So when you’re not dominating, you’ve got a lot of work to do without the ball.
“And he’s not good without the ball, he’s poor.”
