Gary Neville predicts Man Utd fans will demand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacking one day
GARY NEVILLE believes there will come a day when Manchester United fans want Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be sacked - and he will be defending his former team-mate.
The Norwegian has since taken United from 11 points off top four to within two, winning 14 of his 19 games in charge.
It is a far cry from the ill-fated third season under his predecessor, whose presence sparked a vitriolic atmosphere at Carrington.
United white-collars decided enough was enough after a 3-1 loss to Liverpool one week before Christmas and axed Mourinho, who had 18 months left on his contract and was concurrently given a hefty severance package.

Mourinho received a lot of criticism throughout his dreadful last few months, but also maintained the backing of Neville, who instead pointed fingers at the club’s “naive” board.
Some United fans feel Neville, whose opinion holds a lot of weight in the footballing world, played a part in Mourinho outstaying his welcome, such as Twitter user @Anthony_85_.
“The fact United could be 6th this evening after the run we've had just shows what position that man (Mourinho) left us in,” tweeted the United fan.
“How he lasted till December I'll never understand . @GNev2 and the Jose brigade played there part but the buck stops with the board.”

Neville quote-tweeted the post with a shrug emoji, but was riled when another member of the Old Trafford faithful replied to @Anthony_85_’s tweet.
“LOL he's got u there. Fully agree with the man. Your managers justice association has cost us,” she said.
At that point, the former United captain decided to explain his defence of managers, which was also evident during Louis van Gaal and David Moyes’ spells.
“When you’re all asking for Ole to be sacked one day I will support him also and disappoint you again. Sorry [thumbs up emoji],” Neville tweeted.
