Ole Gunnar Solskjaer drops Man Utd future comments after miserable Wolves defeat
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER insists he is not looking further than the summer as his reign as Manchester United manager suffers its first real blip.
Manchester United have lost two games on the bounce for the first time in Solskjaer’s reign.
The Norwegian oversaw last night’s 2-1 defeat at Wolves, which came after a 2-0 league defeat to Arsenal last week.
United are now out of the FA Cup and only have the Champions League and a top-four spot in the Premier League to battle for.
The Red Devils face Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and are not guaranteed a top-four finish this term either.
I'm here until the summer
Solskjaer now heads into the international break with plenty on his mind.
He is expected to be appointed Manchester United’s manager on a full-time basis.
But the ex-United striker insists his mind is not straying past his current task.
"Some of the players go away with the national teams and they'll enjoy the break. We've got to go again,” he said.
“We've had a great run and now we've had two defeats.
“Against Arsenal we just couldn't score and today was poor - the poorest we've played.
"I'm here until the summer, we've got loads to play for in the league and the Champions League."
Were Solskjaer not to be handed the United job it would most likely fall to Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Tottenham will demand a huge fee to let their boss leave north London.
Solskjaer is still under contract at Norwegian side Molde and it was agreed when he joined United in December that he would head back to the Eliteserien side at the end of the Premier League campaign.
But Molde are realistic about those chances, with Solskjaer almost certain to accept the United job on a full-time basis if it were offered him.
There were suggestions United would try to wrap up his contract during this international break.
But these two defeats may prove a set-back to those plans.
