Man City VAR controversy: Fans in uproar after Champions League win - 'Taking the p***'
VAR was used numerous times during Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Schalke - and fans are fuming.
City are set to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League tonight.
Pep Guardiola’s men lead 10-2 on aggregate after going 7-0 up at the Etihad.
However, despite City’s impressive performance, VAR is once again the talking point.
Referee Clement Turpin used the technology on numerous occasions.
City’s opener, a Sergio Aguero penalty, was checked by VAR, which was correctly ruled a penalty.
However, Aguero's second of the night was more controversial.
Raheem Sterling seemed to be offside in the build up to the goal, however, VAR ruled the England international was onside.
Schalke players were furious with Referee Turpin, despite VAR making the final decision.

Leroy Sane had a goal disallowed in the second half after the linesman raised his flag for offside.
After another lengthy wait - and some boos from fans at the Etihad - VAR ruled the German was off.
Minutes later, Sterling’s goal, which was onside, was also sent to VAR to review.
And fans were furious with the technology, with many saying the wait is far too long.
BT Sport pundit Gary Lineker said: “It’s a goal, get on with it. These delays are bulls***.”
A City fan wrote on Twitter: “Seriously taking the p*** with VAR tonight. #mancity”
Another added: “VAR getting the boos at The Etihad #Killingourgame #ManCity #Schalka.”
“Nearly 5 minutes of stoppages for VAR @ManCity but only 2 minutes injury time?
Really @UEFA,” wrote a fellow supporter.
One City fan fumed: “Naar 5 mins VAR time in that half. 2 mins injury time added. Ffs. Apparently every goal from open play needs VAR-ing.”
Another said: “We could have scored another goal with the eternity of time that the pointless VAR decisions took on a 3 occasions @ChampionsLeague @ManCity @s04_en.”
