Arsenal news: Wright singles out ONE star after Man Utd win - 'I don’t give him credit'
ARSENAL hero Ian Wright has hailed Bernd Leno following the Gunners’ impressive win against Manchester United.
The Gunners impressed against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, winning 2-0 at the Emirates.
Goals from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent Arsenal into the top four.
However, Leno was the star performer on the day, keeping Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford out.
And Gunners legend Wright has hailed the German goalkeeper, claiming Leno was key to Arsenal’s win.
I don’t [usually] give him a lot of credit but credit where it’s due
Wright said on his YouTube channel: "People will say it was fortunate and, yeah, to a certain extent I think we were.
"They [United] missed some very good chances but, saying that, our goalkeeper was magnificent today and I don’t [usually] give him a lot of credit.
“But credit where it’s due.
"He made some great saves against Spurs last week.
Solskjaer: De Gea did NOT make mistake against Arsenal
"The save he made - if it was David de Gea, everybody would have went crazy.
"He made two great saves again today. Even though Lukaku missed some chances, our goalkeeper was fantastic."
Wright added: "Got to give the manager credit for putting out a very positive and offensive team.
"It’s great to see Auba, Laca, Ramsey and Ozil playing even though after a while, once Ole Gunnar Solskjaer realised that we were outnumbering them and Ozil was getting on the ball too much, they nullified that.
"Unfortunately, Ozil disappeared out of the game."
Arsenal are back in action on Thursday evening against Rennes in the Europa League.
However, Unai Emery’s men must overturn a 3-1 deficit at the Emirates to progress into the quarter-finals.
