Tottenham star Danny Rose blasted for shameful ‘swan dive’ against Arsenal - PICS
DANNY ROSE was blasted by TV pundit Steve McManaman after his “swan dive” against Arsenal today.
Tottenham hosted Arsenal in the north London derby at Wembley as they sought to get back in the Premier League title race.
Spurs were heavy favourites to win the game against an Arsenal side set up very defensively under Unai Emery.
Yet just eight minutes into the clash Rose infuriated the Arsenal fans with an emphatic dive in the Gunners half.
The former Leeds man sped down the left flank and tried to draw the foul of Henrikh Mkhitaryan when when he knocked the ball too far forward.
Rose hit the deck but was not awarded a free-kick.
And Steve McManaman - co-commentating for BT Sport - swiftly branded the effort to win a free-kick as a “swan dive”.
Arsenal fans were not happy with Rose either.
One fan tweeted: “Danny rose going full Tom Daley there embarrassing that”
Another put: “Danny rose diving is a disgrace week in week out”
A third wrote: “danny rose diving?? what a surprise”
A fourth said: “Danny Rose is such a cheat”
And another tweeted: “So Danny Rose should be booked there, right? Thrown himself to the floor, stone wall dive”
