Man Utd star Marcus Rashford delivers verdict on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job chances
MARCUS RASHFORD has given his verdict on why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be given the Manchester United job on a permanent basis.
The youngster has been firing on all cylinders since the former United man took charge.
United have gone nine games unbeaten in the league since Solskjaer took over, their only defeat coming against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Rashford in particular has shone, having scored six times and given two assists since Jose Mourinho was sacked.
Before Solskjaer took over, he had scored just three times in 17 games.
And the 21-year-old believes that the morale in the dressing room has been the biggest improvement the Norwegian has made since taking over.
He told Sky Sports News that he believes the time taken by Solskjaer to help everybody improve has been a massive influence on his sharp increase in form.
Manchester United host Liverpool today [2.05pm] and will attempt to put a serious dent in their title challenge.
Many pundits believe that a win could all-but secure the job for Solskjaer.
And according to Rashford, that would be the right move.
“For me, it's been a massive help having that type of guidance around me,” he explained.
“But he's been working with all of the players with everything he's got, you can see even the defenders are improving, the midfield is improving, the team's improved overall but we understand we can still take more steps forward.
"He has that know-how, the understanding, that's the kind of thing you just pick off naturally off these type of people.
“Even not just out on the pitch, having conversations about it, it all adds up.
“It's been a big turnaround.
“As long as we keep improving I don't see why [he shouldn't get the job permanently].”
