Liverpool will beat Bayern Munich at Anfield because of these two players - Craig Burley
LIVERPOOL can exploit Bayern Munich’s weakness at the back in the Champions League clash at Anfield.
Liverpool: Burley predicts Klopp victory against Bayern
That is according to ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.
Liverpool welcome Bayern in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday.
The hosts are without Virgil van Dijk due to suspension, while Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren remain on the sidelines with injury.
But Bayern are also set to be without centre-back Jerome Boateng due to illness.
Hummels and Sule at the back. Any pace, anything down the side, any quick balls into the box, Sule can’t sort his feet out
And Burley believes Liverpool can target Boateng’s replacement Niklas Sule and fellow Germany international Mats Hummels, who were both named in the starting XI.
The pundit says pace can trouble Sule and Hummels and he has predicted Liverpool to take a positive result to Munich for the second leg.
“They weren’t great at the weekend again, Bayern Munich,” Burley said.
“Hummels and Sule at the back. Any pace, anything down the side, any quick balls into the box, Sule can’t sort his feet out.
“They’re big and strong but they still look susceptible at the back.
“[James] Rodriguez is getting more game time at the moment, they’re trying to get him into the game.
“He plays a little bit on the left and then sometimes he’ll drop in behind [Robert] Lewandowski in there.
“So there’s a few things that [Jurgen] Klopp will have to keep his eye on.
“But I think, even with the injuries, certainly in the first leg, I fancy Liverpool to get a win, at least take something to Germany.”
Experienced Bayern winger Franck Ribery has arrived on Merseyside following the birth of his daughter.
Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri will face his former side if he plays a part.
