Premier League announcement: Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal face wait
THE Premier League have announced six matches, including the Manchester derby, will need to be rearranged as a result of the FA Cup.
This weekend has seen clubs compete in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Only seven Premier League clubs reached the fifth round but the results on Saturday and Sunday have had a major impact on the league schedule.
The quarter-finals are due to be played from March 15-18.
But on that weekend, Manchester City are due to face their local rivals Manchester United, in a game which could have a major say in the destination of the title.
However, that match along with others will need to be moved to accommodate the FA Cup.
United face Chelsea in the final FA Cup game of the weekend on Monday night - and if the Blues win, their trip to Everton on March 17 will also need to be rescheduled.
Brighton's 2-1 victory over Derby County on Saturday means their match against Cardiff is among the games to be moved.
Watford’s progression to the last eight will see their match with Southampton changed to another date.
Wolves beat Bristol City 1-0 on Sunday and that means Arsenal’s visit set for March 16 will be played at a later date.
Crystal Palace saw off Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup and their London derby with Tottenham will also be rescheduled.
Manchester City beat Newport County 4-1 on Saturday to reach the quarter-finals.
