Paul Pogba is now one of the world’s best for one reason - Man Utd hero
MANCHESTER UNITED interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has enabled Paul Pogba to show he is one of the best players in the world.
That is the opinion of BT Sport pundit and ex-Manchester United star Owen Hargreaves.
Pogba has scored eight goals in the 10 games he has played since Solskjaer replaced the sacked Jose Mourinho in December.
Solskjaer is yet to taste defeat, winning 10 of the 11 matches he has taken charge of.
The Norwegian is now the favourite to become the next permanent United boss.
Paul Pogba looks like one of the best players in the world
Hargreaves has no doubt Solskjaer should be given the job on a full-time basis.
And he pointed to the impact he has had on individual players, most notably Pogba.
“It will be impossible not to give him the job,” Hargreaves said.
“I can’t understand how they couldn’t.
“Unless they get blown away by PSG, which is not going to happen. I think it’s his job.
“The reason they probably haven’t given it to him already is probably because they want to wait until the season finishes.
“Since he’s taken over they’ve been the best team in the Premier League.
“They’re the highest scoring team, they’ve improved defensively.
“Paul Pogba looks like one of the best players in the world, [Anthony] Martial, [Marcus] Rashford.
“There’s nothing wrong with the way Manchester United are playing.
“The fans are happy, everything’s great and I think now even to the point where coming into this game against PSG, you can potentially expect Manchester United to go through after two legs, which we couldn’t have said before.”
Pogba started the Champions League last-16 first-leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
