Tottenham transfer news: Joe Cole makes signings claim involving Harry Kane and Dele Alli
TOTTENHAM players will be desperate for the club to make signings on deadline day, it has been claimed.
Pochettino: I am not optimistic about getting new signings
Tottenham’s star players will be hoping that the club make signings on deadline day - according to former England midfielder Joe Cole.
Spurs are yet to make a signing in the January transfer window after failing to make any in the entirety of the last summer window.

Cole reckons that the players in the current squad would rather the club were doing business instead of relying on their current crop.
“If you are a Harry Kane or a Dele Alli, then you want bodies coming through that door,” Cole told the Telegraph.

“Sometimes you are in a dressing room and you think ‘we’re a good team, we don’t want anybody else coming in’.
“But if I am a Tottenham player and I want to win things at Tottenham, then I’m thinking ‘yes, we need players, why are the club not signing anyone?’
“I know what the players will be thinking.
“If I’m Harry Kane and I’m 25, I think ‘do I want to commit my future to a club when, realistically, we’re not going to win the League?’”
Spurs are currently third in the Premier League table after their late victory over Watford on Wednesday.
Despite the race for the top four hotting up in recent weeks, Mauricio Pochettino revealed after that game that he is unaware of any possible incomings.
Pochettino said: “I am going to talk now with my chief scout Steve Hitchen, I am going to ask for some news.”
Pochettino: I am open to improve the Spurs squad
Despite long-term injuries to both Kane and Alli, the club will likely only be selling players on the last day of the window.
“I expect that maybe some player is going to leave but I do not expect that we are going to add to the squad," Pochettino added.
“I am going to talk because I want some news, but not because I am expecting to sign a player.”
