West Ham transfer news: Fans not happy despite Maxi Gomez deal update
WEST HAM are close to agreeing a deal with Celta Vigo star Maxi Gomez.

The striker is expected to join the club from the Spanish side this summer though a deal is likely to be agreed before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
Sky Sports report that waiting the few extra months makes the deal cheaper for the Hammers.
It’s believed West Ham will not have to pay the stipulated £43.3million release clause. Instead the fee will be closer to the £40m mark.
Gomez will be a vital addition with speculation surrounding Marko Arnautovic’s future set to continue.
The Austrian extended his deal recently despite interest from China with one side making a bid for the forward.
Arnautovic was then injured in the 3-0 defeat to Wolves yesterday, leaving Molineux on crutches.
And having seen their main striker suffer a major blow, West Ham fans are not happy that they will have to wait until Gomez arrives.
One tweeted: “We need him now ffs.”
Another added: “I mean Arnie has just broken his f***ing foot. We need this b****** now.”
A third commented: “Honestly what is the boards logic of signing Maxi Gomez for the summer when our best striker is potentially out for the season.”
And another wrote: “If we buy Maxi Gomez and loan back to Celta Vigo I guarantee he will break his leg or something i just f***ing know it.”
Following the disappointing Premier League defeat to Wolves, boss Manuel Pellegrini was at a loss to explain why the poor performance.
He said: “I think the complete team didn’t have a good performance.
“There are a lot of reasons we must consider and we must study.
“We must know why we have been playing so bad in the last two weeks, after we beat Arsenal.
“I’m sad we conceded two goals from set pieces. Lukasz [Fabianski] made two or three saves at the start of the second half that were clear shots for Wolves also.
“I think we didn’t work as a team on defending.
“Maybe it’s too many games with the same players. We have so many players injured, so it’s difficult to find solutions.
“But we must concentrate if we are to improve.”
