Chelsea transfer could happen ‘imminently’ with Alvaro Morata heading to Spain - Sheth
CHELSEA selling Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid is imminent, claims Sky Sports transfer guru Dharmesh Sheth.
Chelsea are desperate to offload flop signing Morata so they can Gonzalo Higuain as his replacement.
Morata has laboured over the past 18 months at Chelsea - ever since his £58m arrival from Real Madrid.
Maurizio Sarri needs to shift the Spaniard in order to bring in Higuain from Juventus.
And Sheth says Atletico’s agreement could be announced at any time.
Morata will arrive in the Spanish capital in the next 48 hours
“This one is gathering momentum now,” he said on Sky Sports News.
“Sky in Italy claim Morata to Atletico Madrid could happen imminently.
“They say Morata will arrive in the Spanish capital in the next 48 hours with the hope of being available to face Getafe on Sunday.
“Now Morata’s family are thought to be in Madrid already.
“This will be a return to the club where he actually started his youth career for Morata.
“He will end a spell that simply didn’t work out at Chelsea.”
Chelsea offloading Morata back to La Liga will trigger a domino effect, with Higuain then moving to Chelsea and Krzysztof Piatek replacing Higuain at Milan.
And Sheth says Sarri must have Higuain done, otherwise he would not have allowed Morata to leave.
“He started only half of the Premier League games under Maurizio Sarri,” he added.
“And what it also indicates is what will happen as far as incomings are concerned.
“Sarri always maintained that Morata would not be allowed to leave unless they got a replacement in.”
