Dele Alli close to tears as Tottenham suffer ANOTHER huge injury blow against Fulham
DELE ALLI was close to tears when he reached the Tottenham bench after going down with what looks like a hamstring injury.
The Tottenham ace, who scored the equaliser in the 2-1 win over Fulham, pulled up late in the second half.
He appeared in extreme discomfort when by the side of the pitch and was visibly emotional when he sat not he bench.
Another injury to a key player would be a huge blow for Tottenham having lost Harry Kane until March.
Mauricio Pochettino has been unable to add anyone this month but with Kane and now Alli set for a spell on the sidelines he may need reinforcements.
The late winner from Harry Winks kept their slim title hopes alive and they sit five points below Manchester City and nine points behind Liverpool.
Tottenham boss Pochettino is hopeful the injury isn’t too bad but will have the midfielder assessed.
He said: "It is in the left hamstring, I hope it is not a massive problem, but we will need to assess."
BBC pundit Jermain Jenas said: “Dele Alli looks in a bad way. It took him a while to stand up.
“It's the timing of everything as well. You think about the semi-final of the League Cup, games against Borussia Dortmund, the semi-final with England. They're big moments where you want to be fit as a player.
“You've worked so hard all season and for Dele and Harry Kane, they're big misses, and they're going to big misses for England as well.”
After the late winner former Tottenham man Jenas said: “Wow...those Spurs fans know exactly what that means.
“They're going absolutely wild.
“These Fulham players have given so much in this game and I'm not sure they deserve that.
“It was lovely play by Kevin Nkoudou and one of those chance runs by Harry Winks. That is absolutely massive for Spurs.”
Tottenham face Chelsea on Thursday in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, but are likely to be without Alli on top of already missing Kane.
