Rafa Benitez slammed by Harry Redknapp for what he did after Newcastle scored
NEWCASTLE UNITED boss Rafa Benitez has been slammed by Harry Redknapp - for a bizarre reason.
Newcastle's Rafa Benitez looks ahead to Cardiff clash
Centre-back Fabian Schar put Rafa Benitez's side ahead against Cardiff after running from the halfway line.
While the Newcastle fans and players went wild, Benitez responded by whipping out his notebook and writing something down.
That was spotted by BT Sport Score host Mark Chapman who said on the show: "I love the way Rafa Benitez responds to that goal by getting out his notepad and booking someone for parking."
But he was ripped apart by Redknapp for doing so.
"What are you writing there? You've just scored a goal, what are you writing?" he fumed.
"'The centre-half just kicked it in the goal?'"
Newcastle need a win to lift themselves out the relegation zone and above Cardiff in the Premier League table.
Robbie Savage, watching the game for BT Sport, put the blame down to Cardiff's poor defending.
"Someone has to foul him," he ranted. "He's run from the halfway line. Take him down.
"Oumar Niasse is chasing him, he's playing centre-forward, he's run back with the right-sided centre-half from the halfway line.
"Where's the midfield? Credit to Schar - but it's unbelievable."
