Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp readying £20m bid amid injury crisis
LIVERPOOL are readying a £20m bid for Schalke youngster Weston McKennie.
Jurgen Klopp has admitted the Reds are unlikely to complete any transfer deals in January.
However, according to The Sun, Liverpool are eyeing highly-rated USA midfielder McKennie.
Reds scouts have watched the 20-year-old on numerous occasions during his time in the Bundesliga.
And The Sun say Klopp is debating a £20m bid this month - otherwise the Reds could return in the summer.

Midfielder McKennie can also play in defence, which is more than welcomed by Klopp.
Liverpool are facing a defensive injury crisis following Dejan Lovren limping off again Wolves earlier this month.
Lovren, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all sidelined through injury.
Liverpool are also without Nathaniel Clyne after the England international joined Bournemouth on loan for the remainder of the season.

A lot has been made of Klopp’s decision to let Clyne leave on loan, with pundit Craig Burley claiming it’s a risky move.
“Well Klopp had said he’s letting [Clyne] go out because he had Alexander-Arnold and he had Gomez coming back if he needs to play there,” Burley said.
“And I suppose he can play James Milner there. So he took a calculated risk.
“He took a calculated risk that if something did happen then he would play potentially Gomez or James Milner there.”
The Reds are flying this season, with Klopp’s men boasting a four point lead at the top of the Premier League.
Liverpool bounced back from consecutive defeats with a 1-0 win at Brighton last weekend.
Klopp’s side are back in action on Saturday afternoon against Crystal Palace.
