West Ham star Marko Arnautovic flies out UK after Arsenal win... destination revealed
WEST HAM star Marko Arnautovic has flown out the UK - hours after the 1-0 win over Arsenal.
Declan Rice's strike proved the difference as West Ham downed Arsenal at the Emirates in Saturday's early kick-off.
Arnautovic, who this week was involved in a transfer row between his agent and the club, was spotted at an airport soon after - prompting fears he was jetting into China to negotiate a transfer.
But the striker has taken to Instagram to confirm he is off to Vienna in Austria, where he grew up, to celebrate the Serbian New Year.
Arnautovic, whose dad is Serbian, boarded the flight with wife Sarah.
The Hammers were this week rocked by confirmation that Arnautovic wants to quit the club.
They are standing firm after knocking back a £35m bid from Chinese club Shanghai SIPG - but Arnautovic is keen to go with a lucrative £200,000-a-week deal on offer.
The Austrian striker's brother and agent Danijel is demanding that the Hammers do business.
He said: "West Ham bought Marko for peanuts. They paid £20m for him, which is nothing in the current market. They bought him to keep them in the Premier League last season and he did that. He took every award at the club.
"Now West Ham have a fantastic offer, close to double what they paid.
"He wants to go to a new market and challenge for titles. This is what he wants."
Speaking to TALKSPORT, he added: "It is his great desire that West Ham accept the offer from China.
"He knows the West Ham fans love him and he has a special connection with them, but things move on. This is the world of sport, and he hopes they can understand." Boss Manuel Pellegrini wants Arnautovic to stay.
A West Ham spokesperson said: "Marko has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it. He is not for sale."
Former Stoke ace Arnautovic, who turns 30 in April, is under contract until 2022.
