Arnautovic: West Ham ‘should have seen it coming’ says pundit

Their offer - which is understood to be in the region of £35million - has been rejected by the Hammers, who are keen to keep a hold of the former Stoke man.

West Ham promptly responded in a statement of their own, in which they revealed they expect the 29-year-old to see out the remainder of his contract.
And former Hammer Alvin Martin is hopeful Arnautovic does just that, telling talkSPORT: “I hope he’ll see the light.
“Looking back on my career, one of the biggest things I’ve taken into my 50s and 60s is that I played for the right club.

“I was connected with that club and I’m still connected with that club and its fan base. There’s a value in that.”
Should Arnautovic decide to snub the big payday which would come with a move to China, Martin reckons he can go on to become club legend like Paulo di Canio.
“When a player gets that, it’s a very special thing. The fans adore him, the manager wants to build a team around him,” he added.
“One player who sums up the situation is Paolo Di Canio.
