PREMIER LEAGUE DONE DEALS: ALL THE COMPLETED TRANSFERS OF THE JANUARY WINDOW
Christian Pulisic father rubbishes Maurizio Sarri claims
Maurizio Sarri confused Chelsea fans last week after claiming he ‘didn’t know anything’ about the transfer of Christian Pulisic, however, the player's father has dismissed those claims.
“We obviously met with Sarri for quite a long time,” Mark Pulisic told the New York Times.
“We had a chat with him. Christian got to meet with him for a bit, and it just felt good.”
When asked about Chelsea’s move for Pulisic earlier this month, Sarri said: “I don’t know. I didn’t know anything about Pulisic yesterday.
“The club asked my opinion about him about one month ago. My opinion was positive. Today I have known that the deal is done but I didn’t know anything.”
Jurgen Klopp blocks Liverpool exit
Jurgen Klopp has blocked the loan move of Rafael Camacho to Sporting.
Portuguese newspaper Record claim Klopp is worried about the Reds’ defensive crisis.
The same report also suggests the German was equally impressed by Camacho’s debut against Wolves in the FA Cup and feels he could have a part to play in the second half of the season.
Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are all sidelined.
Aaron Ramsey medical
Aaron Ramsey will undergo his Juventus medical on Sunday.
Sky Sports claim the Arsenal midfielder will take another step to joining Juve this weekend.
The Wales international is set to pen a five-year contract with the Italian giants.
Ramsey will become the club’s second-highest paid player behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
Liverpool eye defender loan deal
Liverpool are eyeing a loan move for Burnley ace James Tarkowski.
The Sun claim Jurgen Klopp is hoping to find a short-term solution to his defensive crisis at Anfield.
However, Burnley are refusing to loan out the England international.
They are instead demanding Liverpool pay £50m for the centre-back this month.
Man Utd bid
Manchester United have made a £54m (€60m) bid for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, it’s claimed in Italy.
According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, United are desperate to sign Skriniar, 23.
They say the Red Devils have already made a £54m (€60m) offer for Inter Milan centre-back.
However Inter are said to be demanding a world-record fee of £81m for the defender.
Chelsea deal blocked
Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia has put the Blues’ move for Gonzalo Higuain on hold, much to the frustration of Maurizio Sarri.
Reports yesterday claimed Chelsea are closing in on AC Milan striker, currently on loan from Juventus.
However, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Granovskaia has put Chelsea’s move for Higuain, 31, on hold.
The Stamford Bridge director doesn’t want to pay around £45m (€50m) for a player who just turned 31.
Chelsea have a strict policy of not giving contracts longer than 12 months to players over 30.
Arsenal exit agreed
Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has agreed to join Juventus.
The Guardian claim the Wales international will become Juve’s second-best paid player behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ramsey has been locked in talks with the Italian giants for weeks and he’ll move to Serie A at the end of the season.
Ramsey will earn around £140,000-a-week at Juve, second to only Ronaldo.
Jurgen Klopp makes January decision
Jurgen Klopp will not look to sign a centre-back in the January market because he believes Fabinho is capable of filling in there until their injured players return.
The Evening Standard say the Liverpool boss has no temptation to spend this month.
Fabinho is considered a ‘genuine option’ at centre-back while Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are out injured.
Dejan Lovren is also sidelined, meaning Virgil van Dijk is Liverpool’s only fit centre-back.
