Celtic transfer news: Brendan Rodgers reveals stance on making more January signings
CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed the club are open to doing more business in the January transfer window.
The Hoops have had a busy window so far, signing no less than three players.
Rodgers has this month secured the services of Vakoun Issouf Bayo, Oliver Burke and American prospect Timothy Weah - who has been acquired on loan from Paris Saint Germain.
Rodgers is happy with the signings he’s made but plans on bringing in at least one more new face to Parkhead.
“We will look to do more business, January is important for us,” the former Liverpool boss said.
“It’s not just trying to improve the squad for now but also for whatever summer qualification games we have.”
Celtic currently top the Scottish Premiership by goal difference and are tied with their bitter rivals Rangers on 42 points.
This race for the title has been the closest since Rangers returned to the league following their reformation, and Rodgers is expecting it to go right down to the wire.
“I think we’re in a very good place to kick on for the second part of the season,” the Northern Irishman said. “I think it will be tight.

“I think it will go right down to its very end. Other teams have invested well and improved.”
The loan signing of Weah - the son of former World Player of the Year George - is a real coup for Celtic as a host of clubs were interested in snapping him up.
And the 18-year-old has already fallen in ‘love’ with the club.
“It’s a great honour joining this historic club,” Weah said.
“I’m so happy to join Celtic and to be able to be with this great team and work under such a great coach and coaching staff.
“I can’t wait to play my first game in front of these amazing fans.
Weah could make his debut on Saturday evening when Rodgers’ troops welcome League One side Airdrieonians to Parkhead.
