"The same applies to Solskjaer, too. I'm not denigrating what he's done so far, quite the opposite.
"But United have problems in their squad and in the structure of the club - and that is not going to magically disappear."
However, Fowler has pointed out some good news to sweep over Old Trafford.
He thinks Solskjaer's men could win as many as eight of the next nine games and be believes sacking Jose Mourinho was he right move.

"I will always have respect for Jose Mourinho, but it does look like a cloud has been lifted from Old Trafford," he said.
"Players look so much happier, fans are enjoying it more and the staff are buzzing to go into work.
"Winning does that, of course, and you have to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer credit for a refreshing style of play that has brought some joy back into the team's game.
"But United desperately needed refreshing and a change of atmosphere after Mourinho - and it has been all about who left, not who came in.

"Pogba's performance tells you that. He has looked better, has run more and has seemed far more committed, but you can read that both ways about him.
"The good news, though, is United's fixtures are kind (which is probably why they got rid of Mourinho when they did, to prevent him muddying the waters).
"I reckon eight of the next nine are winnable for the new manager."
