Chelsea news: Gonzalo Higuain asks to speak to Blues, mega transfer given green light
CHELSEA could seal a deal for Gonzalo Higuain this January after the striker asked Juventus for permission to speak to the Blues.
Higuain is currently on loan from the Serie A champions at AC Milan.
Chelsea are desperate to sign a striker with Alvaro Morata struggling and Olivier Giroud not up to scratch.
That has left Eden Hazard to lead the line for Maurizio Sarri’s side in recent matches.

Italian outlet Sportmediaset claim Higuain is desperate for a reunion with the former Napoli boss at Stamford Bridge.
The 31-year-old bagged an impressive 38 goals in 42 matches when he plated under Sarri in Serie A.
Juventus are said to have given permission to Higuain to force a move to Chelsea.
And Milan are reportedly happy to cut the Argentine’s loan spell short.
That’s because Higuain has scored just five times in 14 Serie A appearances this season.
Chelsea boss Sarri has praised Hazard for his performances in the role as a central striker in recent matches.
“Of course he is very important for us, but Messi is very important for Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo is very important for Juventus. He is a very great player,” he said.
“He is able to play in every position. He is playing like a false number nine. He is very able to play in that position, today he scored two goals and I think he made two or three very good assists.
“He is very able to come to play with the team-mates, he is able to make space for team-mates, he is very able in that position, but I think that he can play very well in every position.”
Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move back to Serie A in a possible swap deal for Higuain.
The Spaniard has netted just four Premier League goals for the Blues this campaign.
Chelsea return to action against Crystal Palace in the top flight on Sunday (12pm).
