Originally, Serie A clubs were set to enjoy just a two-week window in January.
The plan was to shut to window on January 18.
And that would have forced Juventus into a race against time almost from day one to get a Pogba deal over the line.
Manchester United are understood to be keen on retaining Pogba - especially now Jose Mourinho has been sacked.
Pogba and Mourinho endured a feuding relationship after both arriving in Manchester in the summer of 2016.
Man Utd: One ‘had to go’ out of Pogba and Mourinho says Wise
New United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to give more game time to Paul Pogba, who won the World Cup with France in the summer.
But United will be forced to sweat it out over January, worrying that Pogba could force his way back to Italy.
It has been confirmed that Italian clubs have voted to extend the January window until the end of the month.
The original plan had been for an 18-day window - shortening the period transfers can take place.
That was in line with the summer transfer window also closing early.
But last-minute deals in Serie A will now be done up to January 31.
Juventus spent £105m on Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer and got that deal done well before deadline day.
Landing Pogba within a month would prove a tough task but reports claim his agent Mino Raiola has been bedding the ground for some time now.
Paul Pogba likely to be tempted by Juventus return says expert
Raiola has supposedly spoken to Juve directors about a possible return for Pogba, who left the Turin club for United in a £89m deal in 2016.
At the start of this year Philippe Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona in a £140m deal - proving that big transfers can happen in January.
Pogba would also be eligible for Champions League football at Juve this season, following a change in UEFA’s rules about cup-tied players.
