MANCHESTER UNITED’s new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will adopt Sir Alex Ferguson’s hairdryer treatment when necessary.

That’s the view of Solskjaer’s former Norwegian team-mate Brede Hangeland, who has spoken about the influence Ferguson has had on Solskjaer’s career.
Solskjaer has been named caretaker manager of Manchester United following the sacking of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday.

The former Red Devils striker spent 11 years at Old Trafford as a player, winning numerous honours under Ferguson.
They included six Premier League titles and one Champions League crown with Solskjaer scoring a dramatic winner in 1999.
Ferguson was renowned for his hairdryer treatment where he would often shout at players for under-performing.
And Hangeland believes Solskjaer will take all the things he learnt from his former manager on board at United.
“Solskjaer is so influenced by Sir Alex Ferguson,” Hangeland wrote for The Times.
“I don’t think I’ve met anyone so influenced by any one person other than their parents.
“He talks about him still as the boss, he tells stories from those days all the time and he models everything he does on Sir Alex.
“Sir Alex had a temper so Solskjaer will try to replicate his old manager as best he can.
“I’ve seen Ole raise his voice; it’s a calculated move to get attention.
“He’s a calm, sensible man by nature. The good managers are calm and are acting when they supposedly lose their temper.”
Solskjaer took the job having been manager of Norwegian side Molde.
But his appointment has been slammed by ESPN pundit Craig Burley.
“If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had never played for Manchester United he would never have been within a million miles of this job,” Burley said.
“This is just about getting somebody in who the fans know, who has got a little bit of managerial experience and who can maybe put the smile back on the face for the short term.
“It’s nothing more than that.
“What makes me laugh is when I hear that ‘well, he understands the football club’.
“All you’re looking for is a good manager.”
