MANCHESTER UNITED legend Sir Alex Ferguson is being actively consulted in the process of replacing Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils sacked the Special One on Tuesday morning following a horrendous start to the season.
United find themselves down in sixth, a massive 19 points behind Premier League leaders and arch-rivals Liverpool.
Defeat to the Reds at Anfield on Sunday proved to be the end of Mourinho.
But now the Independent claim Ferguson is being consulted over who should replace the Special One.
Manchester United favourite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be appointed as the interim manager until the end of the season.
That’s after Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg appeared to confirm his move to Old Trafford.
She said on Twitter: “Great day for Norwegian football. Good luck keeping control of the Red Devils, @olegs26_ole”.
And United themselves confirmed the arrival of Solskjaer inadvertently.
A page on the United website showed highlights of the 1999 Champions League final, with the caption saying: “Solskjaer becomes our interim manager, 20 seasons after clinching the Treble with THAT goal at Camp Nou…”
Mike Phelan is also expected to return to United as the assistant to Solskjaer.
Ferguson backed David Moyes to replace him when he retired back in 2013.
But the United legend will once again be asked who he feels is best to take the club forward.
The likes of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane have been linked with the permanent role.
United return to action against Cardiff in the Premier League on Saturday (5.30pm).
After that the Red Devils take on Huddersfield and Bournemouth before the New Year.
