Chelsea player ratings vs Wolves: Alvaro Morata, Willian and defensive stars crumble
CHELSEA were toppled by Wolves on Wednesday night – who impressed and who failed?
Chelsea fell to a dismal 2-1 defeat against Wolves despite taking the lead at Molineux.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek made the most of a rare start with a good finish, before Raul Jimenez and Diego Jota clawed the hosts into an unlikely lead.
The Blues had some encouraging displays throughout the side, including a bright performance from Cesc Fabregas, but some serious issues came to the fore across the pitch.
Take a look below to reveal the Chelsea player ratings against Wolves.
Kepa Arrizabalaga – 5
Not a good night for Spanish goalkeepers... Kepa really should've stopped the Wolves opener.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 5
Azpilicueta looked solid at the back in the first half, but faded badly and kept being caught out of position.
Antonio Rudiger – 6
Dragged all over the place in the second half, a world away from his composed opening 45 minutes.
Andreas Christensen – 5
In for David Luiz and brought an air of calm to proceedings for long spells, but made a mistake and was punished for it.
Marcos Alonso – 5
The ball just wasn't falling kindly to the left-back all evening. Alonso huffed and puffed but looked sloppy.
Cesc Fabregas – 7
Sat in a deeper role and looked good. Pulled the strings in Jorginho's absence.
N'Golo Kante – 6
His work rate is never in question, but his passing lacks a ruthless edge.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 7
Carries the ball so well between the midfield and the forward line, took his goal well.
Willian – 5
Started reasonably well with some neat attacking moves, but faded badly and was a wasteful liability by the end.
Alvaro Morata – 4
Spends so much of the game on the floor. Chelsea need a physical battler up front, and Morata is not that striker.
Eden Hazard – 6
Created several good chances in the first half but his team-mates couldn't tuck them away.
