Man City team news: Predicted Man City line up vs West Ham – Trio injured, Silva update
MANCHESTER CITY could be without several key first team players when they take on West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
Man City: Pep Guardiola 'sad' for injured Kevin De Bruyne
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will have to shuffle his squad for this weekend’s trip to West Ham due to injury concerns.
City are undefeated in the Premier League this season and currently sit two points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table after 10 wins from their opening 12 matches.
Their next fixture sees City face former manager Manuel Pellegrini, who led the side to two League Cups and the 2013/14 title during his spell at the Etihad.
Guardiola’s team will have to take on their former boss without Benjamin Mendy and Kevin De Bruyne while Bernardo Silva is also a serious doubt.
Mendy underwent knee surgery last week and remains on the sidelines, having struggled badly with fitness problems all season.
Meanwhile, Silva was forced to miss Portugal’s clash with Poland on Tuesday due to “physical problems”, returning to City for further tests and scans.
The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes during his country’s 0-0 draw with Italy last weekend and has proved invaluable to Guardiola during Kevin De Bruyne’s absence.
De Bruyne suffered a serious knee injury at the start of the season and then picked up a problem on his other knee shortly after returning to action in September.
Silva has stepped up in his absence and provided three goals and three assists in the league while also chipping in with two Champions League strikes.
Ilkay Gundogan looks set to replace the Portuguese midfielder, having recently overcome his own injury problems.
Fabian Delph should deputise for Mendy at left-back, having captained England against the USA then impressed in the win over Croatia.
Aymeric Laporte and John Stones will continue at centre-back while Riyad Mahrez is in fine form with two goals for Algeria against Togo and is expected to keep Leroy Sane out of the side.
Manchester City predicted line-up vs West Ham United
(4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Delph; Fernandinho, Gundogan, D. Silva; Mahrez, Sterling, Aguero
