Liverpool news: Klopp to CASH IN on Fabinho and beat Chelsea to £70m Pulisic
LIVERPOOL are ready to sell Fabinho to fund a move for Christian Pulisic, according to reports.
Christian Pulisic at the right place at Dortmund says Hislop
The Mirror claim Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is determined to sign the Borussia Dortmund sensation despite Premier League rivals Chelsea being favourites to sign him.
They say Klopp is so determined he is willing to let Fabinho go just four months after paying Monaco £40million to sign him.
AC Milan and Juventus are reportedly interested in taking him to Italy.
Pulisic is at a crossroads after talks to extend his current Dortmund contract past 2020 stalled.
They are understood to be keen on extending the 20-year-old’s deal but might need to cash in at the end of the season.
It is claimed the American will cost around £70million.
Chelsea were said to be monitoring the situation and are reportedly at the front of the queue.
However, an Anfield source told the Mirror that Liverpool will now do everything they can to keep him from the clutches of Maurizio Sarri’s side.
“Having watched Christian develop there is no way Jurgen is going to back off now,” they said.
“He knows he is a talent who can light up the Premier League.”
Selling Fabinho would help free up cash to fund the deal.
The Brazilian has struggled to settle and made only three league starts under Klopp this season.
Pulisic might also need time to settle, although he is used to Klopp’s methods having worked with him at Dortmund.
And the winger has previously admitted he is keen on a move to England.
“England, the Premier League, is a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here,” he said.
“As you can see, we are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that.
“Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, then that’s when those things happen.
“Like I said before, reading these articles [about me], I tend to stay away from that stuff. I know it is going to be there but it is not my priority.”
