Woodward working on Godin deal
Ed Woodward is working on bringing Diego Godin to Old Trafford.
Woodward has held ‘several rounds’ of talks with Atletico Madrid and is said to be confident of landing him, according to the Daily Star.
And the Manchester United chief executive is ready to pay the £20m release clause it would take to snap him up.
United made a late move Godin on deadline day in the summer but were unable to convince the Uruguay stalwart to join.
Chelsea in transfer probe
Chelsea are facing another transfer probe after allegations they paid the father of Danish defender Andreas Christensen more than £500,000.
Documents published by Danish newspaper Politiken after being obtained by the Football Leaks website allege Chelsea entered into a hidden agreement to lure Christensen, then 15, to London.
FIFA are already investigating 14 transfers of minors by the Stamford Bridge club, and are believed to have suggested a two-year transfer ban over four windows, and a heavy fine over the deals which include the signing of Burkina Faso midfielder Bertrand Traore.
Now they are facing a possible further inquiry after the leaks surrounding the capture of centre-back Christensen in 2012.
Milan eye Fabinho deal
AC Milan are keen on taking Fabinho on loan from Liverpool.
The midfielder only joined Liverpool in the summer but struggled to make an impact until the last few weeks.
Fabinho, 25, didn’t play a Premier League minute until October 25 but he has since played three full games.
However Milan could offer him a chance to come and get more regular game time.
Bayern make Rodriguez decision
Bayern Munich are not planning to sign James Rodriguez on a permanent deal, according to German publication Kicker.
Rodriguez joined Bayern on a two-year loan deal after being linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.
But, despite impressing last term, he has been less influential this season.
The 27-year-old has made five Bundesliga starts and three appearances of the bench, scoring three times.
But it looks like he will return to Bayern next summer with the Germans looking to rejuvenate their squad.
Rodriguez’s deal includes a £42m purchase option but they are set to waive it.
Bayern are looking at signing Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer.
Mourinho scouting mission
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was on a scouting mission last night.
Mourinho was seen in attendance at the Belgium vs Iceland Nations League match.
Michy Batshuayi bagged a brace and Eden Hazard impressed as Roberto Martinez’s side ran out comfortable victors.
And Mourinho could have been having another look at Toby Alderweireld who he tried to sign in the summer.
Also on the pitch that could be of interest were Youri Tielemans, Thomas Meunier and Dries Mertens.
Mourinho was furious in the summer when the club failed to land his key targets.
The Portuguese was desperate to revamp his side after finishing 19 points behind Manchester City.
But he was only able to bring in Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant - who have all had minimal impact.
Arnautovic latest
Marko Arnautovic is demanding £200,000 a week to stay at West Ham, according to the Sun.
But the Hammers are refusing to break their wage structure for the Austrian, meaning he is likely to leave in January or the summer.
Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring his situation and could make bids in January.
United were keen to sign the forward in the summer but were unable to do a deal as they struggled in the market.
Arnautovic revealed earlier this week he was looking to move on from the club.
“It’s clear I want to compete with the best players but in this affair I totally trust my brother,” he said.
Bayern 'confident' of signing Aaron Ramsey
Bayern Munich are confident they have won the race to Aaron Ramsey, according to the Independent.
Ramsey will leave Arsenal for free in the summer after failing to agree a new contract.
And Bayern are among those interested.
But now they believe he will ply his trade in Germany next season.
