Man United: Sacking Mourinho ‘not the answer’ says Neville
Sir Alex claim
Andy Cole believes Sir Alex Ferguson’s style would not fit the modern game.
Ferguson retired from management in 2013 having led Manchester United to 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two Champions League crowns.
But Cole doesn’t think he could replace Jose Mourinho.
“I don’t mind managers who have a go at me if that brings the best out of me,” Cole told the Guardian.
“Working with Sir Alex was an eye-opening experience.
“He was fantastic and the only manager I’ve ever come across who could manage different generations.
“But the way he spoke to us then would definitely not work now.
“The power is with the players now.”
Jose should help De Gea
Former Red Devil Gordon Strachan believes Jose Mourinho should help David de Gea in his quest to leave the club.
Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of the goalkeeper, with the Spaniard reportedly keen to return to his homeland one day.
Strachan said: “When you get close to a lad and he decides to move on then you realise there's no changing his mind, that's when you say, "Let's help him."
"Let's help him get the best move and then hopefully he's in fine form when he moves on because I think he deserves that kind of group thing where they say 'thanks very much' instead of making a hassle out of this.
“If he's made up his mind, then let him go."
Players fined
Old Trafford chiefs have reportedly responded to a rumoured dressing room protest from the players.
A handful of Manchester United players are believed to have been set to take part in a session for the club’s commercial partners this week.
However it’s been claimed that they refused after the players turned up late to their last two home Champions League games.
The Daily Mail, who reported the original protest, now claim that United chiefs have fined the players that missed the sponsorship event.
