Real Madrid next manager: Wenger odds PLUMMET despite Mourinho contact claim
ARSENE WENGER is a shock frontrunner to become the next Real Madrid manager.
Real Madrid: Lopetegui could be replaced by Conte says expert
Real Madrid are all set to sack Julen Lopetegui this week after a run of five games without a win.
Real play Plzen tonight in the Champions League and Lopetegui is tipped to lose his job after the game.
Wenger is out of work after leaving Arsenal in the summer - ending a 22-year stint at the Emirates.
Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have also been linked with the impending vacancy at the Bernabeu.
But Coral have seen their odds on Wenger SLASHED today.
“It looks like Real Madrid are preparing to fire Julen Lopetegui from his role as manager and if this latest gamble has anything in it, the Spanish giants could be set to turn to Arsene Wenger to help them recover their disappointing season so far,” said Coral’s John Hill.
Wenger is 3/1 to get the Real Madrid job, with Conte still the favourite at 2/1.
That comes after reports in Italy claimed the ex-Chelsea manager has already been contacted by Bernabeu bosses.
Mourinho’s price has drifted to 10/1 despite claims in Spain today that the Manchester United manager has been in touch with Real.
President Florentino Perez had an acrimonious split with Mourinho in 2013 but is supposedly open to bringing the Portuguese boss back to the Spanish capital.
Mauricio Pochettino has been eyed by Real in the past and was a frontrunner for the job in the summer before Lopetegui was appointed.
He is 4/1 to land the role, with Real legend Guti priced at 7/1.
