Arsenal news: Star midfielder joins FOUR Man City players in best statistical PL XI
ARSENAL made it 10 consecutive wins in all competitions with victory over Leicester last night, and one player impressed so much they made it into the best statistical Premier League XI this weekend.
Mesut Ozil impresses with incredible trick shot in training
Arsenal registered their seventh Premier League win on the bounce with a 3-1 victory over Leicester, taking Unai Emery’s side back up to the top of the table alongside Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Gunners have won their last 10 matches in all competitions, with a strike from Mesut Ozil and two from substitute Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang enough to see off the Foxes.
German midfielder Ozil was instrumental in the performance and impressed enough to achieve an 8.9 match rating from WhoScored.com based on a host of data and statistics.
The high mark easily puts him among the best performing Premier League XI from the weekend alongside a host of Pep Guardiola’s City stars.
The defending champions racked up five goals as they comfortably saw off Burnley, although Argentinian frontman Sergio Aguero should have had plenty more than his solitary strike.
Benjamin Mendy is fit once again and provided yet another assist from left-back, taking his tally up to six for the season.
Elsewhere, Watford stunned Premier League newcomers Wolves with two goals inside a minute – both created by Abdoulaye Doucoure – while Cardiff picked up their first win of the campaign against a leaky Fulham outfit.
Brighton are also heavily represented in the best statistical XI after earning an impressive away victory against Newcastle – but which of Chris Hughton’s men have made the cut?
