Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho mocked Chelsea fans after Anthony Martial scored second goal
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho reportedly mocked Chelsea fans after Anthony Martial had scored his second goal of the game.
Manchester United boss Mourinho came close to securing a first win against Chelsea in four attempts at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Rudiger had headed the Blues in front but a stunning brace from Martial saw the Red Devils claim a shock lead.
Manchester United were, though, unable to hang on. In the sixth minute of added time, Ross Barkley struck to secure a point for Maurizio Sarri and ensure their unbeaten Premier League run go on.
Mourinho was denied the win and, after Barkley’s goal, his frustrations boiled over.
The Red Devils boss charged after Chelsea coach Marco Ianni after taking issue with the Italian’s decision to celebrate right in front of him.
And he also held three fingers up at Chelsea fans after the game - one for each Premier League title he delivered in west London.
Mourinho was visibly sad at seeing fans of his former club jeer him.
Yet the Manchester Evening News claim the Portuguese actually started mocking Blues fans at 2-1 up.
It is claimed he smiled in their direction following Martial’s impressive second goal.
And he was also seen waving to the United fans who chanted his name with such vigour.
Mourinho’s confidence, though, was short-lived with Barkley earning Chelsea a deserved point.
And the United boss, speaking after the game, expressed a belief that his side were the better team.
Jose Mourinho: Chelsea staff celebration was bad education
“I can tell you that the 97-minute game was so good that you have to focus on that,” he said.
“[We were] the best team on the pitch.
“If you say before the match one point at Stamford Bridge, it’s always a good result because it’s so difficult for teams to win here.
“But after the game, the way the game was, it’s an awful result for us and a phenomenal result for them [Chelsea].”
